How we work
Editorial Policy
How we assess slots
We review games as products, from the documents: the studio’s published rules, paytables, RTP configurations, volatility ratings, and max-win figures, plus release calendars, company announcements, and the regulator’s public record. Figures are always attributed (“published RTP”, “per the studio”, “as of this writing”) — and because studios ship multiple RTP configurations, we say so and point readers to the paytable on the site where they actually play. We assess a game on its mechanics and their lineage, the legibility of its rules, the honesty of its published maths, base-game texture versus feature dependence, and how the design reads under UK stake limits and the Gambling Commission’s game-design rules. Claims we can’t verify are attributed rather than repeated as fact, and we never invent quotes, statistics, test results, or dates.
What our scores mean
Scores run 0–10 and are judgments, not averages of sub-scores. A 7 is a well-made game with real trade-offs. An 8 leads its family. A 9 is rare and means we struggled to find a meaningful fault in the design — not in the odds; no slot has good odds, and no score here is a recommendation to gamble or a prediction of returns. Every review lists genuine cons: dry base games, repetition, low ceilings, sequel sprawl. If we can’t find any, we haven’t read the paytable closely enough.
Disclosure
Slot Bulletin is a commercially supported publication. Posts that contain affiliate links, and posts that are sponsored, carry a disclosure at the top of the post, and sponsored links are marked as sponsored in the page’s code. Sponsors never see, edit, or approve editorial copy, and no score or conclusion can be bought — see the advertise page for what is and isn’t for sale. We do not publish casino sign-up links or bonus codes.
Bylines
Slot Bulletin publishes under house bylines maintained by the editorial team, Economist-style. Reviews run under the editor’s byline, Harry Doyle — a disclosed house pen name and the site’s accountable editorial identity; news runs under “Staff, Slot Bulletin.” We do not publish fabricated author biographies or invented credentials.
Responsible coverage
This is an 18+ subject and we cover the GB-licensed market only. We report on games; we do not coach anyone to gamble, promise returns, or frame gambling as income. Every page carries a responsible-gambling line in the footer, and every review carries one in the body of the text.
Corrections
If we’ve published an error — a published figure, a date, a studio credit, anything — we want to know. Reach the editorial desk via the contact page. We correct promptly and note material corrections in the post.
